Friend of the bar (and guest on our call in show episode) Allister Jenks has written a great response to our ongoing ramblings about Everpix's failure, and whether you can pin blame on a single "part" of a business.
Everpix was a great example of how to sex up a product to generate buzz, and even some sales. Great name. Great interface. Great narrative. The big shame was it didn’t need to exist. And now it doesn’t.
Allister systematically goes down the list of all the use cases for Everpix and why, for him, each was not really valuable enough to sustain such a bandwidth heavy business.
Many people did find these features to be worthwhile, but clearly not enough, and that point seems to have gone mostly unnoticed through this whole saga.
